Annual General Meeting 2025

CDRA AGM 2025

It was good to see so many new faces as well as old friends at our Annual General Meeting on 17th June 2025. Thank you to everyone who came along and stayed on afterwards for a cuppa. Here’s a summary of the proceedings.

  • Colin Punch, Chairman: Colin highlighted some of the campaigns the Association had been involved with over the past year to support residents and the wider community including maintaining the Post Office fortress counter at Tesco’s on Hook Parade and the efforts to smooth the communication around the chaotic installation of the new EV points at Ace Parade. Colin also mentioned the Mayor’s community award to Francis and Diane Brannan for their long service not only to CDRA but also providing help and companionship to many local elderly people.
  • Diane Brannan, Secretary and Treasurer: Diane presented the financial accounts for the year. Diane mentioned that the Association was planning to provide a bench on Hook Parade to commemorate the Association’s 50th anniversary.
  • Grant Henderson, Your Healthcare: Grant provided an overview of the community services provided by Your Healthcare, particularly focussing on those provided to people in their own homes.

CDRA Annual General Meeting

Thank you to everyone for joining us at the Chessington District Residents’ Association (CDRA) Annual General Meeting (AGM) on 25th June. Despite the heat and the England football team’s Euro match competing for attention, the meeting was well attended, and we had an informative and engaging evening.

Here’s a brief rundown:

  • Colin Punch, Chairman: Colin addressed the challenges faced by residents over the past year and CDRA’s efforts to support the community.
  • Diane Brannan, Secretary and Treasurer: Diane presented the financial accounts for the year.
  • Tiem Bang, UK Power Networks: Tiem explained the work involved and timescales on the upcoming project to replace underground power cables along the A243 from Malden Rushett to Kingston. It’s a significant project that will impact us all.
  • Claire Maillet, Fraud Prevention Expert: Claire shared insights on fraud – its types, impact, and practical tips for detection and reporting. Read Claire’s presentation.

Both speakers generated plenty of questions from the audience.

After the meeting, there was a free prize draw and many attendees stayed to chat over a cuppa.

Thank you to our speakers for their time, enthusiasm and information.
